On Day 2 of the Pharmaceutical PPM Toolbox, you will be able to build your own program – three co-located streams will give you plenty of choices!
Twenty speakers, three streams, companies such as Novartis, AstraZeneca, Janssen, Boehringer Ingelheim, Novo Nordisk, Pfizer, Sanofi or GSK and just eight hours. That is Day 2 of the Pharmaceutical PPM Toolbox. In this short time, you will be completely in charge of what you’ll learn. Will it be a case study on Janssen’s functioning of Project Management or Cancer Research UK’s take on risk management issues? Will you rather choose Sanofi’s case study on their new reporting tool eBinder, or listen to Katrin Bernoester from Biotest? Would you rather hear Fresenius Kabi’s story about reorganization of their Global Project Management or is Boehringer Ingelheim’s view on mastering the project budget more interesting? The choice is yours, however tough it may be 🙂
Real-Life Examples, Personal Talks
We will start with the Keynote Presentation by Emmanuel Faure (Novartis) entitled: How to Conduct Meetings That Successfully Garner Decision Board Endorsements of Plans. Afterwards one of our valued partners, Anton Lorenz from Primas Consulting, will introduce the concept of “moments of truth” that can help in managing your projects.
If you thought that sitting through presentations that simply aren’t of your interest, waiting for „your“ content, is unavoidable, then we have good news for you – the rest of the day will consist of three co-located streams . All presentations start at the same time, which gives you an opportunity to move from Project Management Stream to Portfolio Management Stream or to the third track focusing on Risk Management (morning part) and Generics (afternoon part). Each will consist of six presentations and six roundtable discussions with our speakers.
The Project Management Stream
“I will show you how we successfuly delivered a Phase III project on time and budget and how we built an accelerated submission plan,“ says George Kirk (AstraZeneca), who was one of top-rated speakers last year. Andreas Norlin (Novo Nordisk), on the other hand, has decided to focus on the opposite of success and will explain how to deal with crisis. He plans to „talk about the importance of having a solid plan and focus on the people when managing a project portfolio which has been decided to be discontinued; and how these experiences are useful also for the everyday project management.“
The Portfolio Management Stream
Kathrin Brodowski (Sanofi) will focus on commercial strategy vs. internal/external innovation:“I will point out the importance of understanding future portfolio needs and aiming for long term sustainability in the Biopharmaceutical industry.“ Christine Deuschel will present Debiopharm´s story: managing a project portfolio in an environment without dedicated research facilities and without sales force. Jeremy Hayter from Pfizer will compare the valuation of individual projects with the valuation of portfolios.
Risk Management/Generics Stream
Risk strategies of their respective companies will be presented by Stephen Clegg from Norgine, Tara Gipp from Cancer Research UK and Ela Walker from Novartis. For the first time ever, we will also have space dedicated solely to generics, and three experts will offer their view on PPM in generic environment: Stefanie Wach (Fresenius Kabi), Cemal Battal (Teva) and Marguerite-Mensonides-Harsema (Medac). Cemal, for example, will explain how to achieve a strong portfolio in a generic company and compete with Big Pharma through holistic approach. „We need to learn to wear the shoes of the patients’ and the patient pathway by ourselves,” he thinks.
