As Mark Twain said: “The secret to getting ahead is getting started”. We know that as a financial controller, you don’t want to just be excellent with numbers. You want to be a value creator and be responsible for many aspects of your company’s strategy. That’s why we have come up with a platform where anyone from finance can master their skills, whether it is technical proficiency, leadership talent or remarkable communication. The 4th Annual Financial Controlling Toolbox will launch next month in Bratislava. On the 16th and 17th of June, financial controllers from the CEE region will come together in the beautiful Little Big City in the very heart of Europe. Join EBCG at the historical Radisson Blu Carlton Hotel in the old city of Bratislava and master your leadership, communication and reporting skills.

Get deeper into the DNA of the controller

On Day 1 of the Financial Controlling Toolbox, you will have the opportunity to meet your peers and get information by top notch speakers. Janos Meszaros from RWE Hungary will kick off the event with a keynote presentation on why controlling needs a strategy. He will discuss more about how to prepare your team for the upcoming challenges in a disruptive business environment and the increased level of digitalization and automatization. Next, Greg Tzavelopoulos from Pipelife will speak about new trends in reporting and how to do it more effectively.  More insights on digitalization you will get from Tomas Otava from Sodexo, who will talk about the impact of digitalization in controlling and finance departments.

In the afternoon, all attendees can join our workshop sessions dedicated to the future trends and predictions of controlling and more specifically, data and technology. Join Damjan Sinkovic from DOK-ING and build a casual business model with proposals of measures and targets.

Macroeconomic indicators, & financial updates from the region

Day 2 of the Financial Controlling Toolbox will start with Josef Langmayer from Raiffeisenbank who will present how macroeconomic indicators are used when drawing up the budget of a bank, followed by Dilyara Basyrova from EuroChem on news of tomorrow from IFRS.

Greg Tzavelopoulos will take the stage again and in his session, you will learn how to apply excel diagrams, formulas and VBA in a smart way in order to animate complex reports.

After our morning coffee, where you will have the chance to reach out to the speakers and learn more about their sessions, you can join our moderated and round table discussion. It is time to choose your own campfire session. Are you interested in being a value creator, leading your team or learning more about macro-economy? Manage your own agenda and discuss the current indicators and next steps of your future development. Roxana Coman from Affidea and František Benes from Kofola will present a case study related to their acquisition and due diligence experience.

After lunch, master your skills and join Eoin Hanley from Pathways HR on an interactive workshop about developing leadership and communication skills. Next, Jana Sekerova from O2 Slovakia will talk about people management and how to lead your team right.

Right before the end of our event, discuss your latest challenges and successes in your organization with Eoin Hanley, František Benes and Jana Sekerova in a “lightning talk” session where you can share your achievements and inspire your peers.
